The size of paper I use is 2.7m by 11m. Not that I will ever need 11m, but I normally just cut it after each wedding. Have used the photobooth three times now. Only just started using them.
Its an additional cost to my packages. I normally get the 2nd shooter to do it as Im busy taking photos of the dancing (usually do the photobooth during the dancing at the end of the night). Even at 2.7m wide roll its still not enough to fit large groups in But I tell my clients the photobooth is only possible if there is 3m wide space for the backdrop and a powerpoint near by. |

Even did a wedding reception in a pub this year and managed to set one up no problem, so long as you let the clients know what you need it shouldn't be a problem. If its nice weather and people are spending time outside I throw mine up outside, very nice on a summer evening if you have been running around all day.

I know this is a really old thread but for those of you who do the printing on site, do you print out just 4x6s or the strips. Any special software?

We ran a "photo booth" at the last wedding we did.
Some good friends of ours got married, and really wanted us to shoot for them. At the reception I setup a pair of lights (580EX2, pocketwizard in manual, CP-E4 power packs) on lightstands, one with a brolly and one a Lastolite soft box. Found a nice bit of wall in the reception centre with a really cool black and silver pattern on it. Had a big blank book, and a thick magic marker and had people write a message to the bride and groom, then hold it up and be photographed with it. The messages were pretty funny, ranging from "congratulations" to "I'm with stupid" The bride and groom even jumped in and did a photo to their child (the bride found out she was pregnant a few weeks back) - a simple "you are here" I would say it was a success, we had fun, the guests loved it, bride and groom loved it. Printing the pictures out onsite for the guests would be a great idea though, give everyone a keepsake from the event

I've read a few pages here and when I first read the "photo booth" idea, I thought to myself how tacky it would be. Well, I still think printing shots for sale at the reception is a very tacky idea...
Anyway, the idea from the first page about the background along with a box of props and or large cardstock to write messages on is a fantastic idea. Everyone has the same wedding shots... the dancing, food, kissing, etc... but if you have photos showing how much fun your friends and family had, and or personal messages that you could look back on, to me that means the world. It adds another dimension to the standard photos and can bring out the friendships and warmth that people ahve for each other. (plus you may get some incriminating stuff to laugh about with your best friends 20 years later.) Thread subscribed to! |

All my prints from the photo booth are free to the guests. My last photo booth average 120 4x6 over 3 hours. That's approximately $17 worth in print media and I charge $700+ for my booth.
