ive been wanting a 35L for some time and checking out the pics in the sample section
i mainly shoot portraits, people, and then cars and automotive.
i have a 5d2 with this lens line up so far
-tamron 17-35 2.8-something... i liked using the 10-22 on a crop for automotive pics but the look of wide angle is passing on me i think. havent even used it since i got it
-sigma 28mm 1.8. bought it for cheap and wanted to see how i liked it since it was close to the 35mm. its been on my camera since. i dont like the unreliable focus of sigmas though
-canon 50 1.8. nice and cheap so i have one.
-canon 24-70L. i love it for everyday use. very practical on my 5d2. if i had to take one lens with me anywhere this is it
-canon 135L. my favorite for shallow depth and sharp pics. i use for people and cars.
-canon 70-200 f/4L. i got this just incase i needed the reach. i shoot drifting pics but not as of lately. im thinking my 135 might do ok if i needed to use it
i am thinking about selling some of this to fund a 35L. my first route was this
- sell the 24-70L and get the 35L and maybe an 85 1.8 to fill the gap between the 35L to the 135L. but all i would have is primes in the mid range. would the 35L me good for everyday walk around use? as good as a 24-70?
- next choice would be to sell the 17-35, 28 1.8, and the 70-200... since i havent really touched any of those at all in my bag... but i dont know, one day i might need it and be SOL
everyone that has a 35L on a FF. how much do you like it compared to your other lenses. i love the pics that are produced with them. i love the wide look with depth and separation of the subject
