I just got back from an indoor low lighted soccer game. Everything I took was extremely grainy
I was fairly close to the action so I probably should have used my other lens. This was a kids game in a kids club gym, pictures had a yellow tint that I could correct by using the flouresent correction in Photo Studio 5.5. But the grainy photos I could not correct.........any suggestions would help.

you can get some programs to reduce grain
http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/noisegrainreducers/ http://www.neatimage.com/ http://www.luminous-landscape.com/re...se-ninja.shtml otherwise you will need a faster lens 50mm 1.8 might be good

Thx , this did the trick nicely! Now Im gonna need a faster better lens, since the images lost a bit of sharpness.
I posted the photo in the sports area. Quote:

That assignment sounds like fun. I would use my 550EX or 580EX if the areana would allow flash photography. I would suggest using a custom white balance as you may have more than one kind of light source. You will find that AWB will dissappoint you occasionally. You may also find a monopod helpful.
Good Shooting To Ya !! Merle P.S. A Yellow tint to your images would suggest tungsten lighting, a greenish tint would suggest flo. Last edited by Merle : 14th of June 2005 (Tue) at 13:12. |
