I've had the camera for almost a year and focus just seems to get worse. i can track a slow moving subject and take the shot and even thought i'm positive i had my focus point dead on the subject, the focus point some how moves elsewhere. similar issues have come up on these forums regarding focus on the 7d. never had these issues with the 60d or even the xsi i'm not here to bash the 7d, i love it and that's why i hand delivered to Irvine this morning just to make sure it gets a good look over before my 1 year warranty expires.

I'm not going to lie, no, I have not. If given the chance would I" Yes I would. I was able to use it this weekend for a while, and I love it! I love everything about it. But I won't be getting one soon as the guy thinks he needs to have two bodies just in case. It was awesome shooting at 3200 and the shots are crystal clear, that's for sure! I Am sure a Mark III or IV is just as good, and I will go where the deal is someday, but if I get to choose, I would probably go to the dark side.

My bad... I was asking about focus mode. AI servo, spot AF, zone AF, etc....

I hear ya buddy. The reason I asked is that those last 3 shots you posted look just a little different that the normal BDW shots to my eye. But then again I could be/not be seeing things. Those are some cool shots dude, as always.

matty,

using ai servo and tried all focus points/types. also in low light, it has trouble locking on focus regardless of which lens.

Well I hope you get it worked out when you get it back from Canon. I've had the best results with spot af. Most of the time when I get a shot that missed focus, it was my fault. Not saying that is your issue, just mine from time to time. I also had to slow down the speed of the AF as well so it would not jump around too quickly.

I was trying to pull the Metadata on the last shot but it wasn't available. It looked a little dreamier than normal. I thought maybe you were just using a 300 2.8 or the lighting was just perfect.

What body and lens was the last shot BD?

Dreamier? I think I like that! I used the NIKON D3 with a NIKON 200-400mm at 330mm,,,ISO 3200/shutter 500 f4.

ISO 4000, no flash. I could never pull this off with my camera. I also shot this from the stands and he was two lanes over.
