My PowerShot Pro1 makes a chirping sound every time I focus. I want my camera to be totally silent, I don't need a sound feedback.

How do I turn it off? I can't find that option in the menus. What have I overseen?

there is a siund when focused - 2 beeps

also you can customise the settings

Yes, thank you for your answer. So far I haven't found anything about the settings of those two beeps you mentioned, and they are the beeps that annoy me.

I will read the manual with a magnifying glass. Maybe I will come up with something...

I have found the two focus beeps on the Pro1 very useful - especially if you are holding the camera away from you when getting close to the ground for instance.

If the chirping sound is the one after each time you focus is the one that your talking about then I think you cant turn it of but you could lessen the sound by going to the volume control

Thank you for all your answers. Finally I found an option: If I turn "sound off" on, then the camera is silent. I guess the strange way of putting it confused me totally.

Sound off? On or off? Off, then you can hear the sounds... =)
