Default Urgent, fireworks advice!

I've never had much success with (photographing) fireworks, but I will have some to take tonight. Can anyone advise me on settings for my 5D? Please!

happy new year!

the only success I've had shooting fireworks is with a tripod and semi-long exposure (1/10th or 15th of a second, maybe longer). I don't get the opportunity to shoot fireworks often, so hope this helps. Good luck!

you can do both short and long depending on the type of fireworks however longer is better. you need a tripod. and a cabel release

depending on how much ambient you need you might have to chagne the settings but for just fireworkso n black you can do like iso 200 F8 then put the shutter in bulb..

just wait till the fireork launches and hold the button. let go whenever you feel is enough. i have a coule examples on my alamy page http://www.alamy.com/search-results....ic=1&mr=0&pr=0

for lens i recommend using a zoom that dosent creep. over a 15 minute show you can play with tight and wide shots
