Default More Black Skimmers

The Black Skimmer is an unusual bird, it has a split bill that it ususes to skim the surface of the water, they are the size of a large sea gull, they're a lot of fun to watch feeding. These pics aren't the greatest but anyway here they are.

Wow, interesting bird! That's a long skim in #1. They must have strong neck musles and jaw muscles.

Cool! I saw my first 2 weekends ago... I couldn't even get a focus on it, they move pretty quick.

Nice shots of one of my favorite birds!!! Good skimming action too, always thrilling watching them in flight. I see them often when I go to my parents shore house. Sometimes I'll see them over the bay well into night feeding like that. On the ground, they look somewhat awkward, very long tails, short legs, super long bills, awesome bird!
