Default 16 Gig SDHC too good to be true?

Hey guys, newbie here. Just took posession of a lightly used Canon T1i. I had a 4 gig card laying around that I have put in to mess around with and get to know the camera. I was doing a bit of research this morning and came across what is labeled as an A-DATA 16GB Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) Class 10 Flash Memory Card for $38.99. You know what they say about deals that seem too good to be true so I thought I'd try to get some opinions here. What do you think?

I'm not a fan of putting all your eggs in one basket. I have 2x4GB CF cards from Adata and it's a pretty good company. I've never had problems.

Shooting raw, can shoot about 400 photos per card. If you are just starting out, I'd focus your money elsewhere. Memory is only getting cheaper.

I purchased a (non-name brand) 16 gig SDHC card for $24. I figured there was not much to loose so I purchased it. Been using it for over a year now and never had any problems...

I do agree that you should be using multiple cards to avoid loosing all your images in case of failure. I try and do that as well, but sometimes I find myself loading up the 16 gig. When that happens it gets to be a pain to sort through the mass amount of files.

I'm using a 16gb class 10 card except the brand is RIDATA. It works great. Write speeds just over 10mb/s.

Thanks for the input so far everyone. I had never heard of anything above a class 6 until today and the price seems pretty low compared to others I have seen.

My buddy who shoots weddings will not use anything larger than 4gb. Of course he can be sued to infinity if he lost a big card. I use 8gb but even on my T1i that gets filled up quickly if I shoot any video. Just waiting on a good deal for a 16gb myself.

I have used supermediastore before, they are legit. A-data is also a well known memory company. Not sure about their sd cards. I tend to look for transcend and sandisk deals.

I am using a 16GB Transcend class 6 SDHC card in my T1i. I paid about $40 for it from Amazon. It has plenty of room for photos and video. I went with the 16 over an 8 since video takes up so much memory. I don't let mine get very full before downloading everything to my PC. However, when I need the space it is there.

I have an A-DATA 16 gig SDHC in the G10 which cost about that price after rebate. So I don't think that's too good to be true.

Costco.com says:

$39.99 after $15 OFF
SanDisk Ultra

2-Pack

They're class 4 cards.

SanDisk Extreme 8GB Class 10 Card. I download pics after each day's shoot. I swear by the class 10s because they are the only cards I have found that lets me run the T1i continuously when I shoot RAW.

I've got a 32GB SDHC card in my Dell netbook but I don't think I'd ever (until we reach the point of 30-40 megapixels) contemplate putting something in a camera simply because of the risk of losing too many images.
