Default Some city shots

Here are some shots of Centennial Park and Atlanta that I have taken a few days ago. Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

Well, both are really busy. I can't tell what the subject really is, and the midday lighting doesn't add much to the mood.

The first is kinda tilted, and the trees up front and in the side are ugly and distracting. I'd try a different vantage point.

In the second, you have some foreground/background contrast there, but the grass adds an unnecessary extra foreground, I think. Perhaps the grass would add more if it was the foreground and you were taking a shot from the ground, or something like that.

The image quality seems good enough but the shots just aren't that interesting to me. I'd try some simpler ones from different angles.

Can't add much to above, except Welcome. I do see evidence of good effort in finding interesting themes, and composition. The colors are also pleasing to my eye. Keep shooting, and send more.

Indeed, I agree about the harsh lighting; unfortunately I could only shoot at noon that day. As for busyness, I agree about the second shot, but I actually thought the first one was pretty much as straightforward as was practically possible. I mean, the only elements present in addition to the main point of interest (i.e. the aquarium) are the trees and lightposts (the latter being the main problem), but I can't really see how one could take them out of the picture.

I added the grass, because I thought it helped give more depth to the picture. But while it does do that, I agree that the grass is also quite distracting. I tried cropping it out and I found that this does indeed simplify the image.

Thanks for the detailed critique!

You're right, I should have phrased that a different way. It's not that I didn't realize the subject, it's that my eyes weren't led to it as quickly. Some people aren't as bothered by dead trees, I guess I just have a vendetta against them...

I like the second one. It's very nice! To me it's pleasing to the eye.

I'm awaiting pics from inside the aquarium. I absolutely LOVE that place. Only reason I wish I lived in Georgia.

and the pics aren't bad, but they'd be better for a family photo album instead of a frame.
