Default Charlie Daniels Band [Large Images Warning]

Shot Charlie Daniels last Thursday night and have been very busy ever since ... still am! Shot Tower of Power and then Tom Jones last night and it seems that my camera with 70-200mm f2.8 L IS USM got dropped or fell while I was using the indoor plumbing. Camera seems OK but the lens needs major surgery ... anyone know the best way to get this done via Canon please let me know, sigh. Anyway, here's Charlie:

There are, as always, more images from this concert at my website, http://www.dwightmccann.com/ChumashCasinoResort/CharlieDanielsBand06162005.htm
and tonight I'm shooting Starship ... with my Fuji S2 as I've gotta have a 70-200mm range zoom.

Pekka, thanks. I will try to put up some Tower of Power images tomorrow and call Canon on Monday. I've never had to have equipment, Nikon or Canon, repaired before.

Excellent as always Dwight!

I wish I had my camera with me a couple years ago when Starship was in town! They blocked off all of downtown Newark (Ohio) and had a big festival with rides and such, and 2 or 3 nights of live entertainment. The first year was Styx for the classic rock, and the second years was starship. There were a few country bands the Fri night of both years, but I forget who they were.

The first year they did this was for the city's bicentennial, and the second, I think they were just trying to make it an anual event, but they say they were losing too much money on it, along with the businesses losing money that were closed due to this.

Anyway, looking forward to all your great pictures as always!

Dwight, fantastic shots. In my mind, I picture the last one as from "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". I also love Tower of Power so I am looking forward to seeing those shots too.

I was looking over some of my old threads and found Pekka's comment on the last image I posted in this thread. It reminded me of the one image folks really liked in the Sin Bandera set, the one with the very emotive facial expression of the guy at the keyboard. I am thinking that I should lean a bit more toward emotive images even at the sacrifice of some technical excellence ... oh, I didn't really say that did I?

There have been several reports of flying pigs, and the weather forecast in hell is for sudden, freezing temperatures.

Charlie is notorious for wearing that big hat with the brim that covers and shadows his face. This venue apparently has some lighting at a low-enough angle to get under that brim, which is a great advantage, and you did a nice job of capturing those few moments when he raised his head!

Nice to see the old guy is still kickin'! Did he play "Uneasy Rider"?

JF, yes, I noticed it was getting a bit chilly here!

Curtis, I was too busy shooting to listen. And then I left early because he just couldn't keep his bigoted red-neck politics out of his show as requested by the venue ... a lot folks were offended.

Isn't it ironic that he and Barbara Streisand have something in common?
