And Jake ... we rescued him when he was 3 years of age. He's now 7. Rescue group had given up finding him a home; he'd been through 4 or 5 and was deemed "hyper and uncontrollable", and had hip and ligament issues. No one wanted this big (100 lbs) sweet guy. We're thankful for that, cause now he's ours!

sue.t - Jake doesn't look very hyper in that picture, lol. It's so nice to see so many good dogs finding good homes from rescues. Here's my daughters rescue. His name is Jorge.

Anyone who does not have pictures of rescued animals to show in this thread should run right out and adopt a new pet.

First we have Josh, he was adopted from the Humane Society and lived to be 12 years old.

This is Sarge, we adopted him a little over a year ago from the Central Wisconsin German Shepherd Rescue. We were his fifth home in his first seven months, very smart dog. We're just finishing up his third training class since we adopted him.

This is Jasper. We got him at a rescue in Cleveland. He's a St. Bernard/Lab mix:

So lovely to see this thread and look at all the wonderful dogs (and occasional cat!) that have found great new homes

This is Jasper, our newest arrival and now our oldest dog. We brought him home on NYE as he'd been taken to the vets to be put down. He's in good health and the vet got in touch with Oldies Club. He came to us on emergency foster and has stayed He's 12 years young.

Could I ask any photographers in the UK who read this, to take a quick look at my thread here:
http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=823382 where I'm hoping to build a list of volunteers willing to photograph foster dogs for Oldies Club? There's another thread there for worldwide members too.

Thank you, Angela

This is Mister Red, he wandered into my back yard one rainy night covered with ticks and looking for a dry place. Took him in and cleaned him up. Never had a dog before, have been a cat person 4ever. The vet figured he was about 5 or 6 months old at that time. He's about a year old now. Got to get the 3 cats to adopt him also, its slow but its going. Photo taken today while we were visiting friends.

Here's Jack, we were blessed to have him for 18 months before he passed of cancer, he was very happy, and that made us happy... He now rests in his favorite spot in the yard, overlooking the park - as it should be...

Here's my rescued pup. His name is Billy and was abandoned by his owners when they lost their home. He is part Chihuahua and Papillion.
