Default Fresh Snow

These were taken after a fresh snowfall . All comments and tips welcome.
The dog is highkey but I kind of liked it.

Like the pooch. I did something similar with our dog a few weeks ago. The eyes are a little dark, that would be the only thing that bothers me. Otherwise what a cutie, nice way to get an image that is different from what you usually see.

You're circling those tombstones, aren't ya? I don't think this one works. Try getting down in that snow and shooting them up against the sky. Or from behind to get rid of the trees. Its the busy background that's giving me grief. You need a foggy day! There does seem to be a shot there, just have to find it.

Thanks PBeee . I knew someone was going to say the eyes were too dark . They are.
I'll have to wait for a foggy day I guess . I'll get one yet dammit . Much appreciated.

Nice effect on the dog. I would crop out the tail. Why is it dark?

Thanks joedlh. I was going to lose the tail also . Couldn't decide. I raised the contrast which made it darker.

I've got to agree that the little pooch's eyes are too dark, but otherwise an excellent and touching image. I tried editing in ACR/Photoshop and found that I couldn't get the eyes to come up much even with massive amounts of fill light. I guess fill flash would be the best way to level the contrast in a shot like this one.

Thanks stsva , I already tried to lighten the eyes with no success . A flash would of been the answer , too late now.

A really quick go at it, even just light around the eye area seems to lessen the darkness?

Except the "highkey" (actually just high contrast - too much contrast) made the dog's eyes not visible because its eye sockets are just black.
