Default Acorn Woodpeckers

Well I live in Thousand Oaks (or at least there used to be), so here are some pics of the beautiful acorn woodpecker from one of the thousand oaks.

Wow, I've never seen this type of woodpecker before in real life! The facial colors are so different from other woodpeckers. Nice captures Paul.

Thanks, these guys make small holes in the trunks of oak trees then stuff acorns into them for storage.

Nice pictures. I've only ever seen a woodpecker in the wild once. It's infuriating because I can hear them hammering away all the time but can never spot them.
