playing with a new lens

I got the Tamron 90 macro today and have been trying to get familiar with it.
This is one of the many "decorations" my wife has strewn around the house. This one actually seemed interesting if you get close enough. She has bowls if this kind of crap laying around, at least it gave me something to photograph.

Anyway, nice lighting to show the detail dropping away to a dark barkground...

Your shots of whatever it is are great though. Tack sharp focus on the lens too.

Yeah, now i'm kind of curious as to what this actually is. Good shots, nice and clear, I think I like #3 best.

haha thanks guys.
That "thing" is pretty small (maybe 3 inchs long) and was in a bowl of other dried doodads. That's the best description I can give you. I asked my wife what it is and she said "it's a decoration" with a, what are you stupid or something, look on her face.

here is another "decoration". I got no clue why anyone would buy this, but my wife loves this kind of stuff.

Beautiful shots, I bet you're going to be real happy shooting wierd crap in close ups with that lens! Please post more and keep us guessing as to what kind of wierd crap your wife has laying about your house!
