Good lighting - the first one is perhaps a little underexposed and a bit centered for me. I would also brighten up her eyes. A posing tip: when you do the chin in the hand(s) pose, ask your subject (if old enough) to not actually put the weight of their head in their hands - it can mess with the shape of the face and pull the skin in the wrong directions. Have them hold their head up on it's own and then just gently rest the hands against the skin so it looks like their hands are holding up their head but they aren't actually doing so.

The second one again looks a little underexposed. I'd crop a little bit off the left of the frame - the little girl is right on the edge of the frame whereas there's more space behind the mother and it feels unbalanced to me.

I think both could do with some sharpening but they are very cute, heart warming captures! They just need a little PP tweaking.

Much better on the edit. Eyes are the key to good portrait work. Looking at your EXIF, you shot this 1/15 sec. To get a sharp shot even with a tripod is tough, but you did a good job. Much more depth in the edit.
