Thanks, yes.. This weekend was the first time I've been able to use it with dark skies, so I was very happy to see the results of the higher ISO.

On the 5D2, I generally was happy with iso 2000-2500 and would go to 3200 if I absolutely had to. I shot several last night with ISO 3200, 4000 and 5000. All of which were very clean files. I'd say that 5000 looks like 2500 on the 5D2 to me.

I'm also shooting for the first time with my new TS-E 17... which is an ƒ4 lens, which I was a bit nervous about.

Now, with the performance increase on the 5D3, I no longer have concerns about the ƒ4 lens.

The higher ISO capabilities will also mean that I can get shorter exposures too, which can be really helpful sometimes. I never go over 30 seconds when shooting stars, and often I'd like even shorter exposures if I can, for things like wind, or oncoming cars, etc...

Overall, so far, I am extremely happy with the 5D3 on all facets. It's a helluva camera.

Great work, Todd. Can't wait to get away from the city to get some star shots. Even our little town has awful light pollution!

Thanks Tony! Quite a learning curve to both of these though... I'm fumbling around, but having fun!

Hmm, yeah you're right. Not sure what happened there. It didn't look like that before I exported. Lemme fix! Thanks!
