As a Mountain Leader Instructor, I'd give my right arm to be back there again. But I'm 66 now, and the last time I travelled the "pass of the Cattle" I was a passenger (going up) on the "downside" of the pass..............Had to admit............I shat myself :-) I'd sooner be driving. Once over the pass though.............a whole new (forgotten) world. Recognise this?

Yes, indeed, I'll go and take an update shot for you one of these days! What year was this image taken? I go over the pass all the time to get to my hiking destinations - but I set a 2-hour time limit as I have to remember the drive home in the evening! Next time you are over in Blighty - take a trip up to this area - west is best!

I know that hen........West is always the best. That was taken around 1995. I did my Mountain Rescue training it the areas around gairelochead.......the Cobbler etc. but I know Skye and the Cuillins fairly well. That's a repro scan of an old slide that I played around with. I've got some older slides of a place called Dearnbeg but they got mould on 'em when I emigrated to Oz.

You'll recognise this though...........sorry, I know it's a B&W thread

Kev, your red-roof photo is much better than most of the rubbish churned out! Love the way the red pops. Not too familiar with Loch Long - it's outside of my 2-hour drive limit for hill-walking, so I'm pretty much restricted to Torridon, Skye and Kintail. Oh dear! Great image though.
