Don't even begin to think I'm criticizing your images.
Just a natural curiosity.

About 4 months ago Photobucket announced no more linking or 3rd party hosting unless you sign up for the $40 a month plan. Some people are still using so it looks like if you have been there a long time you can get away with it. It looks like new members can't. Many have stopped using it and found another hosting site.

Some people are still using [Photobucket] so it looks like if you have been there a long time you can get away with it.

It depends on what kind of Ph. account you had before the terms changed. The basic free account doesn't do it. And who knows, a few people may have chosen to pay the ransom.

I can still do it. I had the $5.99 account which I recently cancelled and I posted a link the other day. I have been there for years so maybe that has something to do with it. That place has become an ad pop advertising zoo and it slow and difficult to log on. Not sure if that changes once you pay the ransom. I hate going there but once in while I do.

When I closed my account, it didn't disappear immediately. Your new link and any old ones may not work in a few days.

It is possible. I used it for both my good shots and hand drawn examples, desktop captures, etc. Since you can upload images here now I made a donation. I'd rather give my money to POTN than that mess. I also joined FM for that reason so I don't really need it. If I do need a reference to a image of a page from the camera manual, etc I just cut and paste as I know where everything is there.

I am trying a site called lensdump but not very much right now as I'm not sure about them. Free for now but who knows. Only reason is some sites that I upload to do not display at high rez.

Signing up with the Adobe plan you get free website using Portfolio so I cancelled my Zenfolio account. I have made some adjustments recently :-)
