Default Desert Festival | Saudi Arabia

Hello every body
After the great echoes of my previous thread Arab Traditional Market I decided to post a new thread showing one of our winter festivals Desert Festival

Desert Festival is not the exact translation. It's in Arabic " AL Ghadha Festival ".The word " AL Ghadha " related to the name of a kind of plant grows only in this desert !. So we used to say " we're going to Al Ghadha " rather than " The desert " . This is a little introduction before I show you the pictures .

PS: I gathered many photos from my friends to give a complete idea.

This picture taken by Mr.Ahmad Al-Sheme as u can see in his logo sign. It shows the whole area of the festival. Many tents arranged in O shape with one gate. The desert is far about 15 Km from the city.

Zoom .. if u have any question , or need a clarification on any part you can ask

The organizers of this camp want to give an exact reflection of the past life. Every thing is related to the past . And I want you to notice one thing , camps are the old houses for travelers while people who live in a city have a clay home (just like the one in the previous thread ).In the center you can see activities of the old-daily life. A half tent (they didn't but its surrounded walls to enable visitors to see what's inside) camels , boys wearing old clothes and playing around the well , girls playing together ( Oh flower open ) - I should tell you about this game some day -

Thank you, Rinad, and your fellow club members. These are great photos, both technically and for showing the life in your part of the world. I can see many similarities between your world and ours. Kids ride their pretend horses just the same everywhere. And men enjoy playing with their "toys" (trucks) everywhere. It would be a wonderful experience to attend this festival.

Very nice series. You did a wonderful job covering a wide range of subjects. My favorites are the one of the boys playing with the palm leaves and the girls in traditional clothing. Very beautiful!
