Default grip questions

can you mix and match batteries for the battery grips?

i have a canon and a generic 511 battery for my 40D zeikos grip. the mAh rating for both is a bit different, but that's about it.

I've done it on my 40D with a bg-e2 grip with no problems at all.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it. I've mixed an OEM Canon BP511 with SterlingTek brand off and on with no problems at all on the BG-E2. The mAh ratings on those are different as well.

I've used Optekas and Canon OEMs in my T1i.

Different capacity batteries shouldn't matter either.

And you don't get the annoying "not genuine canon" battery error.
