Default Shooting a box turtle

We have a box turtle and I had some pretty neat ideas for taking some pictures of her, but I'm completely unsure of what type of background to use because of her color. Any ideas?

Hi Randi. This image was taken quite a few years ago. Dark background with an off camera flash. Don't remember much else about the shot. I would try to get up close and personal - show detail and get some turtle personality in the picture The background is not of great importance when shooting like this.

In my opinion this is a great capture, but it`s true I`m still kind of a novice in all these.

Don't shoot animals - that's crul why kill it if it's not doing harm

Use a light background IMO off white or a pink - prongs out the darker markings
