I am sure I abused the papyrus font back in the day too. There is a reason why experience is valued....and its usually because at certain points people figure you have made enough dumb mistakes to learn from.
I still have a copy of my first backpacking website home page: Mike's Hikes and Stuff. I sure learned a lot in 10 years!

Font is way too fancy. If someone can't read it, they'll be turned off. I cannot read what is under the "PA" around the vinyl record.

Take a look at that list. While they aren't all in black and white I can guarantee they all have black and white versions of their logo.
Interesting list, and point taken. Pretty much all the world famous logos are deceptively simple. I also notice that many of them are really nothing but text in distinctive fonts.

Going OT, I am "internet uncouth"... I like Comic Sans. I don't use it, but I like it, and I think nothing negative of it when I see others use it.

ETA: Check out the similarities between Intel (#9) and Samsung (#19).

How busy a logo can be depends ont he size you are going to use. If you shrink it down for a website, business cards and such it will be very busy and hard to read. The more basic the logo the better. Your artwork looks excellent.
