Default Amateur Photographers at London blast

Read this article the other day and thought you all might be interested in it. Its about amateur photographers first to the scene of the London blast. I don't know what I would do if I came upon a disaster with my camera on hand. Would I step back and take pictures or run and try to help. I hope I never have to find out.

On a side note, my thoughts and prayers go out to those families who lost love ones and to those who had loved ones injured. My thoughts and prayers also go out to All the good people of England.

If I were the first one there I'd drop the camera and help out.
Once the pros got there and I'd just be in the way I'd pick it up and shoot them working.
I'm with you though... Let's hope it never happens.

Amateurs took some of the most dramatic photos from the whole episode. It raises some interesting questions about the future role of photo journalists.

I'd also like to send my best wishes to the friends and family of all those involved.

With access to digital SLR's and quality associated gear and the spread of broadband technology I doubt if it's a career with much of a long term future.
