I may be getting this lens as part of a trade, if it goes through, and it would be great if anyone who owns it would post some images they have made with it..... please

I just got one yesterday (sold my EF 50 1.4, which I found soft above f2.0, to fund it), so Iīll be posting some pics as soon as have some worth posting...

A quick snap, taken while going home from work yesterday. Composition might not be the most intriguing, but that wasnīt really the goal either. Shot handheld with a Rebel T1i, natural light (overcast), f2.8. Full picture Smart sharpened 100 %, 0.3 radius, 100 % crop sharpened 100 %, 0.8 radius.
![]() ![]() Softness of the petals surrounding the white center is due to the short DOF.

Cream of the Crop

Would love to see a loosely framed or waist up portrait with this lens. I know it is a macro lens, but the focal length is PERFECT for a portrait lens on a crop camera.

Nothing fancy, just a quick sharpness test. Shot handheld with pop-up flash. Focus achieved via LiveView (the AF seems a bit inconsistent on my copy, perhaps in need of adjustment).
The full image, smart sharpen 100 %, 0.3 radius: ![]() 100 % crops at f2.0, 2.8 and 4.0, unsharpened: ![]() f2.0 is fairly sharp, although contrast is a bit lacking. All-in-all Iīm very happy with my lens, highly recommended as a combination of macro/short tele.

Thought I'd post some shots.... Really like this lens. Usually my everyday walk around lens now as it is so versatile.

Japanese cherry trees are just starting to bloom here in Stockholm, which of course must not be missed (f/6.3, popup flash):
