Three days at Virginia International Raceway. As a previous post said, it looked like rain, but the rain held off. I was hoping for a little rain to get some interesting shots.

Nice shots....I like the VW's on 2 wheels.

I figured there would be more threads up from VIR by now......I believe ours are the first 2.

I like the diversity of your shots...whenever I shoot VIR I get stuck shooting from three spots all day...Turn 3/4...Oak Tree...Roller Coaster

Gotta get me one of those media credentials

Dennis,

No media creds. This is from the spectator side. This is an easy track to get good looks without resorting to ladders.

Oak Tree didn't do much for me. It's a slow turn and from the spectator side, hard to get something without the Armco or catch fence getting in the way. I tried a few from the grandstands and also from the south paddock, but didn't get the angles I liked.

I know I missed a few spots since this was my first time there, so I have something to look forward to next year.

Great pics! I was at VIR just days before that race with the Audi Club. Been going there for a couple years and I've yet to find a good spot to get the cars coming straight at the camera (at least without a media pass). Love the vdubs in Turn 4!

Here's one coming out of 5-6 set. Not a bad view from the spectator side of the fence.

I liked Roller Coaster at the end of the Bosch. Lot's of people shortcutting their way down the track. I have a whole sequence of the Turner BMW, but I was doing pans at 1/100 when he decided to bypass some of the pavement. Rotation and vertical movement at 1/100 doesn't bode well for sharp images.

Turn 4 looking from outside Turn 3. The 500 pulled them right in. I took these on Friday before the Bosch signage was put up.
