HI,

I am entering a competition in a couple of weeks - the topic is Architecture/Record.

I know what Architecture means, but Record? I have been told it's a record of an item, taken almost as to give the viewer an insight as to how it was made...but I don't know. What do you think?

Here are a few photos that I think may fit the bill, but want your opinions as to which to enter... I can enter 3 photos...

Any Critique is welcome, over and above their suitability as Architecture or Record shots...

Thanks

For me it is #3 and #5.

None of them are that great, but with a little adjustment of brightness and contrast, they would both be good.

I don't think any of them would be a winning picture. arcitecture/record... seems to be to either a picture of a concert hall/a building where music is made/church bells or of a building that made some record (highest building in town, oldest or what ever).

Living in Austria, I am so glad that there is stuff like Gimp out there...
I am a happy giver, so if you find any misspelling in my text, you can keep them... :)

I don't understand how the nature shots suit "architecture/record" theme.

I would have presumed the "record" should be related to architecture ... how the building or structure was constructed or made? A construction detail maybe, such as joinery or fasteners, or structural component?

Well, this is my problem. My club had a "close up" evening just recently and were taking photos of coins, toy cars, flowers, etc. We were then told that the photos we took may be used in the Architecture OR record competition. So I got confused!

The record part is NOT directly linked to architecture according to my lot. And, to confuse me even more, I once posted some pictures of the birds of prey (on here, I think) and someone said "These look like RECORD shots to me" as they were captive, posed birds, not in flight or in natural surroundings!

So, I am confused! :confused::-(???
