Default Battery charging abroad

My Ixus camera uses NB-4L batteries and a Canon battery charger. My question is this.
Can I safely recharge these batteries in France using a simple socket plug adapter to enable the charger's standard 3-pin plug to be inserted? And if so, will charging take longer? Thanks for advice.

Yes. If you look at the charger, you'll see it says "100-240V 50-60 Hz", so essentially anywhere in the world. Charging will take about the same time.

I just got back from France and as stated above it will work. I did find though that if I used the aftermarket charger for my G10 it would not charge even though it stated it should work. The Canon Charger for my other camera worked just fine. So if you have an aftermarket charger just a caution that it may not work.

Yes, I was in France last November and had no problem charging the same battery type using the Canon charger. All you need is a plug adapter.
