The Aston Martin Owners Club were in full swing on Sunday at Mallory. There were not as many cars as their event there last year but the racing was very close. I am always amazed at the way these owners push these cars on the track, there is no holding back in deference to the age (and value) of these machines.

There are more pictures from the event HERE (external link)

Sometimes having a 500mm to your eye means you miss a great shot.

Lovely selection of shots there Neil. Lovely and sharp, great colours and nicely blurred backgrounds.

I have to agree with the others, the Ferrari 250 shot is a real corker.

I attended the Snetterton round of the AMOC, but was disappointed that these real oldies didn't turn up for the meeting. Most of the cars on track at Snetterton were 1960's onwards. The old open wheelers are just fantastic, and make for some really nice photographs.

Just out of interest, do you ever blur your backgrounds to accentuate the sharpness of the subject, or are these just as they've come out of the can (except for RAW adjustment, resizing and sharpening)? I know this is a technique that some people use to make the subject of their shots look even sharper.

I posted a few of my shots from the Snetterton round of the AMOC. They can be found here if you're interested: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=854216

Kevin thanks, no PP in respect to altering the backgrounds just Raw conversion, and minor tweaks.
