If they can make a 240mm f/1.2 with an image circle that covers 6x7 medium format, how come we don't see an EF 200mm f/1.2 L?

Wonder if this thing could be adapted to EOS. Since it covers 6x7 MF, it should have zero vignetting on a 35mm FF camera even at max aperture :D

Here's a similar Zoomatar 250mm f/1.3 for Hasselblads. Only ~$30k USD LOL

I don't think it's a matter so much of COULD they, it's a matter of holy crap that's a lot of glass and probably costs more than a car.

Correction: DOES cost more than a car.

Hey, don't forget that Canon made an EF 1200mm f/5.6 that sells for $120,000 used at B&H right now. That's more than a small HOUSE.

They could - the 240/1.2 means at least a 200mm front element. The EF 1200mm f/5.6 has at least a 214mm front element - so they could. But it would cost US$100k or so.

Also the optical performance is quite laughable id imagine..

Theres a LOT of lenses that we just dont have...50mm f/0.95s and such...The reason they dont exist anymore is that they're just too specialized to be necessary..

Theres a 1700mm f/4 for instance...Weighs 300lbs..
