One of my favorite subjects while on vacation is photographing children. Here in Canada taking photos of other people's children can be taboo for a variety of reasons. And many kids here simply hate having a camera pointed in their face. So I find that it is much easier to take children's portraits while traveling. Indeed, sometimes kids will ask you to take their photo. Others simply love it when someone asks then to take their photo. I can only assume they may be from a family that may not be able to afford a camera. But it is amazing how bright of a smile you can get!!

these are all beautiful captures... it amazes me to no end to see such little souls with hardships not comprehensive to children in my world. I grew up in Paraguay and have full knoweledge of the hardships children go thru even tho I was more fortunate, my family always either had squaters or workers on our land and the one thing I find my eyes are always drawn to are hands, especially young hands (even as a young child I would question my father on why children had to have man's hands)... you have captured those working hands I have so often wondered and worried about as a child myself. It is also amazing to see the smile in the first image, such happiness shows even tho one know's life is not easy, the last one is nipping at my heart and the 3rd show's strength in his stance and star.

great captures, thank you for sharing.

I always find it interesting that the poorest pastoral families in the world assign their children with the task of managing the family's most expensive assets: their livestock
