Default Ixus i5 LCD replacement

my sister has just cracked the LCD on her Ixus i5 and I was wondering if anybody knows of a UK supplier of these screens. Local repair shop has quoted her £165.00 to replace it, and that seems a bit over the top to me.

Camera details on link below

Thanks for any help

Chrishoggy - A few months ago I had the same problem with my IXUS 500. To repair it they asked me: 185 Euro.
Then I asked for the LCD only, so I could it change myself and the price was only: 18 Euro plus shipping and handlingcost, for a total of 38 Euro.
It took me one hour to replace it myself because it was the first time I did it. If I had to do it again it would take me about 30 minutes to replace it.
So my advise is: look for the Canon Service in your country and ask them to send you only the LCD for your camera and replace it yourself.

That sounds like a more realistic price for an LCD. She did phone canon and they told her they wouldn't supply the LCD as a part, it would have to be returned to them for fitting etc. Not sure what department she phoned, but I will give their UK HQ a call in the morning and see what they can do.

Well After a little hunting around, I've found a UK supplier of these screens.
H. Lehmans (Photo/Video) Tel: 01782 413611
Price £35.25 inc Postage and Packaging
Now thats more like it.
Now you can't tell me that Jessops were not ripping her off by wanting £165.00 for screen+ fitting.
