Very smooth timelapse. The soundtrack really gives you a different impression as well.

I think this was all shot video and then sped up. For example in the car sequence the cars have smooth motion with no gaps that would be created between frames. If you're shooting with an intervalometer you're not going to have that smooth motion.

The main reason for having long exposure times (around one-half the interval time) is to create the smooth movement. It's from the days of shooting with film where a 180 degree shutter would expose the film for 50% of the frame rate.
