A few weeks ago I noticed a Robin couple building a nest directly outside the large picture window from my desk. Leaves were getting a quick start so eventually I had to trim a few branches to watch their progress.
Small twigs, dried grass and weeds, most dropping to the ground. The next morning there was surprising progress as they were hauling in muddy grass. A few days passed until I noticed some movement knowing the eggs had hatched. I didn't notice the string until a few days later... Each photo represents one day, starting with day 3. ![]() ![]() Ghost beak from dual pane glass ![]() ![]() These last three images were taken only minutes apart. ![]() ![]() And trying not to fall off the edge. ![]() So approximately 7 days from hatching until the sign went up. ![]() Note: Image quality is degraded by shooting through one-way mirror tinted windows. (from the outside they look like a mirror). The birds cannot see us, this is also a great experience for the kids being able to watch them so close. High ISO was needed. I've never shot birds before and did this for fun to document the time period. Took little time with a lot of fun. Troy |

Regardless of quality, this is a very good series. Content is priceless.

Marvelous series, Troy. I was hoping to do something similar when some Robins built a nest on one of my window ledges, but the chicks disappeared two days after they hatched I'm guessing they were eaten by crows. I'm glad your birds had better luck
