New puppy on the run

Can someone please take a look at my photos and see if there is anything I could do better. The focus just doesn't seem quite right. Hand held, I was shooting in AI servo, in AV at 4.0. These are shot with a 50d and a 24-105L lens. Thanks

At this size, it's hard to see any focussing deficiencies. What is obvious however, are the blown highlights, the first I suspect because of the shaded background and the second because of the brown fur. Cute dog, ****zu or Lhasa ?

Thanks, she is a Shih Tzu. I tried AWB and sunny exposure, and yes I agreee with the blown highlights.
