US Open at Pebble Beach? DSLR okay?

Not sure if I should post this here or elsewhere, being that it's sports related thought I'd try here.

Heading to the opening round of the US Open at Pebble Beach this Thursday. Will they allow dslr + gear in? My setup is amateur but I'm not sure what restrictions they'll have. I didn't see any mention on the website about restriction of camera gear eiter. Anyone been and know what they will allow?

Cameras are only allowed during the practice rounds (Mon-Wed). This restriction applies to all PGA tournaments, not just the US Open.

Thanks Huy. This is a bummer. I guess I can understand this policy. At a minimum, it'd be cool to at least bring a compact to take some snaps with the buds.

Asysin2leads, true, it does work very well and I usually live by it. I was on iPhone and sleep deprived so got lazy. Today I searched and found a post from a few days ago.

I got credentials to shoot the Colonial in Ft Worth a few weeks ago. It was a great experience as I had never shot a golf tournament before. I went in on Wednesday which was a practice round/Pro-Am. I saw other photographers there with cameras. But when I went back for the third round on Saturday, the only ones in there were those with credentials.

I found it interesting on one hole, John Daly was coming off the tee box and he had the biggest crowds around him. There were security people walking in front of him barking at people to put their phones down ordering them to take no pictures. Technically, one should have even had cell phones. I would think at the US Open, they will be even more strict.
