The one that was killed was my brother-in-law's girlfriend. The drunk driver suffered no injuries. My brother i law was in her car, and he is now in the hospital recovering from a broken collar bone, broken thumb, a lacerated spleen and liver, and a concussion.

She died on impact. The car was t-boned in to a traffic signal, crushing the car from both sides. We are still wondering how David (brother in law) survived. We are so thankful he did.

The drunk tried to run on foot. He was chased down by the police that were pursuing his car when he crashed. He is a repeat offender, and is now up for murder.

David is in good spirits, and is recovering fast. I took these for the friends/family that could not make the trip to visit him.

1. Speedy Recovery

Thanks, he's coming along well (physically) but I don't know when he's going to decide to tackle the emotional pain. It seems like he's shutting it out right now. He can't remember anything about the accident either.

I have absolutely no tolerances for drunk driving and hope this guys goes away for a long long time. Glad your BIL will recover and condolences for those that wont.
:(

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Dont to degrade from the purpose here, but he will be charge with man-slaughter not murder.

Prays to him and family. Just went through this 2 months ago with my aunt.

The prosecution is pushing for Murder for the girl and Attempted Murder for the other two in the car (my BIL included). He had two DUI's before with a failure to appear on the last one. There was a warrant out for his arrest, and that's why he was running when he hit the car.

Joe,

I know how hard that has to be. I lost a close friend, and co-worker, last year to a drunk driver. Same kind of accident, t-boned my friend's car doing about 70mph. Killed my friend, the driver, and the girl in the drivers side back seat. He blew a .258 that was rising. The guy was a 4th time offender and got 2 counts of murder for it. We, at work, haven't fully recovered from what happened, and it's something people most never will. People who even receive one DUI should not be allowed to drive, ever again.

It depends where you are and on the DA. If they offer a plea deal of the lesser charge. But murder charges will be brought

Sorry to hear what happened. Something similar happened up here in Seattle. Three teens were in a car and got hit by a repeat drunk driver. Killed two of the boys. The first boy who died at the scene was about to turn 18 and was suppose to graduate high school a couple days later.

I think the first photo is good and catches a good expression. I would have left it at that and not posted the others.

Nice series despite the sad story behind it.
