Finally getting the hang of shutter drag...BULB ftw! DJ Manifesto & The Handsmiths together are ****ing nuuuuts.
![]() (how do I fully get the whirl effect around the whole subject?) ![]() ![]() ![]() All shot with the kit lens. What's the next step up in terms of zoom? I also have a 50 mm (nifty fifty) but the lack of zoom in the club makes it hard to get suitable pictures. Last edited by nilknahS : 21st of July 2010 (Wed) at 04:03. |

My problem with the 50mm isn't that it's a prime (I do nearly all my zooming with my feet anyway), it's that 50mm is far to narrow for the clubs I go to.
10-20mm, 16-35mm and 18-55mm are popular ranges for club shots. A lot of it will depend on how busy and how big the clubs you go to are. |

I think he means all "ambient" light. Which gets the Pod stamp of approval. The less you use flash, the better in my book. The less you use Flash, the better in my other book too. 8)
Shea, here's what I don't get. They gave you drama, but yet, in a lot of your frames, it seems that every wannabe hipster d---hebag blogger/"photographer" was allowed free reign, up to and including being in front of Steve while he was on stage. Can I call foul?

I'll call foul. I hate these guys, they show up at some of the shows I go to but fortunately the promoter I work for doesn't put up with it and boots them off the stage or lets the bouncers know I'm the only person allowed up there. I've talked to a few of them and the only reason most do it, is for the girls. They're nothing but GWC's.

Precisely. Like, there's 20 other people crawling around there annoying the patrons with constant photo requests and they decide to make an issue of Shea? I saw Shea in action when he visited here and he was anything but intrusive and annoying.

Oh yeah, totally. You could easily swing a new body or a nice chunk of L glass with a few plum club gigs.
