^^^ on a couple of them the bottom left (in particular) and right don't look all that sharp. However, I don't know what aperture you were using and whether that is the reason for the lack of sharpness. I was led to believe it was sharper than that in the corners, but maybe this is normal??

the first question one must ask when evaluating a lens is "what am i going to use this lens for?"
the criteria for a lansdscape lens are quite different from those of a portrait lens, etc. if you're shooting landscapes, go take a few landscapes. make the test realistic: good light, high frequency scene in the frame, close down the aperture, ensure no camera movement. then pixel peep the results.

I've been on vacation the last couple of days. I've never put mine as far as 3M. As I've mentioned before, when I set it at 1.2 meters at F5.6, everything is in focus. If you are at f2.8, you might want to go up to 1.8 meters or so, but really you don't have to worry much. The DOF is so deep it's almost hard to miss. If you focus on a flower at 1FT or something, and then forget you changed the focus, your later shots will be OOF, but between 1-2 meters, everything should be golden. Just try it and relax!

Thanks Teva! I like your shot too. I'm not sure if you've gone through all pages of this thread. Boy, there are some pictures that mine don't even come close to being worthy of a comparison.
By the way, that super moon shot was taken with the 100-400. The one below with my shadow in it and the rest I posted were taken with this lens.

So I returned my previous Rokinon copy and got this new one branded as Pro-Optic from Adorama... Yet to do proper tests, but I guess the corners look better on this.

First attempt at using the "black card" technique to "fake" a grad filter with this lens, since we can't get a filter on our lens...wished I could have exposed longer, but I run the risk of blowing all the highlights...
Also first attempt at doing a B+W landscape, and using PT lens to correct the distortion, must say I'm really impressed with PT lens, almost certainly will be buying it... ![]() Sunset1 by Quiexo, on Flickr
