Anyone have pics on a crop body?

Yes! Here are some with the 50D.

Late to the thread, but here we go!

Ha, wow! Very cool. What department are you in? I'm an undergrad in Electrical Engineering, and it's definitely a nice place!

Thanks for the kind words about the photo as well! ;)

Any opinions on how this fares against the 15-85mm Canon lens on a crop sensor?

Apples to oranges. This is a Prime UWA lens, that is a standard zoom. There is really very little about the two worth comparing.

I've taken this shot a few times on a few different bodies over the years and none of mine have looked this good. Nice shot.

Got the lens just before our trip to NYC - it's a very fun lens to use, but it's quite hard to compose since you really need to think about what's in the frame, since it captures so much.
Here a few pictures from our trip - all taken on a 5D, some handheld, some on a Gorillapod:

Oh man, I'm really impressed. You did NY justice with these 14mm shots - and nice UWA technique, too. After seeing such great results I have to keep reminding myself that I have little use for a 14mm lens, but this Samyang looks fantastic for sure.

Thank you :)
For many, including myself, the Samyang 14mm is probably more nice-to-have than need-to-have, but given the price I thought I could justify it ;)
