Portland Oregon Urban Portrait Help Needed
I'm looking for some spots to take some senior photos and would love some ideas. This is my first attempt at this and luckily it's for a relative so he's up for repeat outings for my 'practice'.
I've got a 40D, Canon 28-135mm and Sigma 17-70mm. Reflectors or external flash? Any and all advice along with any locales around Portland with some grunge appeal would really be appreciated. |

opportunities are endless:
waterfront park, any bridges along the W. river, etc. I enjoy the area around Powell's city of books The Grotto Rocky Butte Pioneer Square, and some of the old buildings/churches in that area Up at OHSU area Lloyd center & Covention center area (rose garden quarter) Troutdale downtown area If none of those peak your interest then just go to Pro Photo Supply in Portland and see if one of the employees can point you in the right direction. I go in and look at what they have (bit overpriced) but they are helpful. |

I'm a local too and all the above are great spots. I just shot couple down at the water front and they came out great! There's also quite a few spots at Edgefield. I have a wedding to shoot in September and went there today to get a better look and prepare for lighting conditions. I also had my senior shots done there and think they came out great! They have stairs, doors, balconies, vineyards, a golf course and lots of greenery and flowers.
