Default Communication error

Trying to dwnld some pics off my Canon PowerShot SD790IS and I'm getting a "Communication Error" What's causing this and why can't I download the pics?

First suspect would be your USB cable. Try a different one. Then try a different USB port in your computer. If you're downloading direct from the camera, change the batteries. If you're using a card reader, try a different one. If you're not using a card reader, try with one (it's also faster than downloading straight from the camera).

Same error w/ diff USB cable. Same error w/ camera & diff. PC. Couldn't get SD card to open w/ card reader but opened when we put SD card in 3rd PC slot. What gives?

Sounds like a card problem then. What make and size card is it? You might try some of the utilities here to see if they're any help.
