Thats why i really was hoping for this lens to be closer to the Mk2 Canon, not necessarily as good, but damn close to it...or at least a few hundred less...

I've shot the Canon Mark I a couple of times and this lens is definitely just as good, if not better. At 200mm it may be better, but it is hard for me to say having not actually used the lens myself. I wasn't even considering it after reading the first review, but now it's back on my list. I think that the canon Mark II is a little better, but once the price settles down on this one it should make a great alternative.

Considering Abe's has this lens for $1529.10 and the Canon mk2 for $2284.90, a savings of $755.80, I don't think that's bad. And used Canon MK1's go for a little less than a new Sigma with a warranty. I think the trade is not so bad. If anyone is interested, BH has a used (9+) Sigma 70-200 2.8 OS for $1399 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...2_8_EX_DG.html If I had the money I would buy it!

Not really any action in here. For those that are considering this lens check this out. Here
At current new prices, I would go Canon. Once this lens drops or starts to enter the used market at cheaper prices I think I will jump on it. |

It's the same price on amazon as well. I would probably pick one up if I had the money right now.
