Well, after my long and sometimes painful path to a decision, I finally picked up the 100-400 L IS today...:cool::-D. And I also ended up snagging a grip for my D. Rebel, as it felt SO much better with the grip then without...I have only had a chance to take a few shots of the moon and cannot wait to get out and shoot tomorrow...thanks to everyone on their opinions and assistance during this fun time...now to play with the toys...:D

Congrats, you won't be disappointed it's a fantastic, versatile lens.
Along with my 17-40L it goes with me everywhere.

I agree with you on the grip.

Great lens for sure! I use it most often for my pictures.

*sigh* It seems everybody is getting the 100-400, I only wish I could afford it as well (Saving every penny I can on the side for one). but congrats, and post some pics for us
