Default Firewire port issues - 1DsMarkII

Well this is my first post on this forum, so here goes...

I'm having a small issue with the 1DsMarkII and was wondering if anyone out here could help me out... I thought I'd throw this one out here, although I doubt I'll find what I'm looking for.

At the studio where I work, we shoot directly from camera to computer (thus avoiding all the storage issues on CF card, and we can see the results immediately in Phase One). With the 1DsMarkII we have the chance of being able to plug in a firewire connection to the camera, it's absolutely awesome (compared to a USB download).

Although we do most shots on tripod, I tend to like to do my "beauty/model" shots handheld - force of habbit I guess - only thing is that the firewire port on the camera has jiggled so much we already had to fix it once.

Does anyone know of a contraption to lock-in the firewire/USB/video/whatever connectors into the camera so they don't jiggle and damage the ports?

If you want to answer that I should buy the wireless system camera-to-computer: 1) it's not available in China (we're thinking of buying it on our next trip in Japan in September), 2) although fast it has only one channel and we have 8 shooting areas in our studios.

There is no locking device that i have ever seen in the uk but you can get flexible crocodile holders that you could tape to the tripod and use the clip to hold the cable close to the port
might work?

I have the same problem, the fire wire plug port is not tight or strong enough for daily use. And I am afraid I will break it within the first session.

You have to go wireless, that really is the only solution for "tethering"

Thanks guys!!

I actually found (on another forum) a kinda viable solution til we get the wireless system:

I found this on Kodak, the clamp would work when off the tripod.

Use the Cable Clamp Assembly to secure your FireWire cable to your camera. The Cable Clamp Assembly consists of the Cable Clamp Bracket (Part No. 4E2751) and a Cable Clamp Knob (Part No. 4E2752) which must be ordered separately.
Use the cable clamp assembly to:

Provide strain relief to the DCS IEEE Cable when the camera is handheld.
Improve FireWire connection reliability.
Prevent damage to the FireWire connector.
The cable clamp assembly can be installed to allow left- or right-side exit of the DCS Pro Back IEEE Right-Angle Cable.

I know a studio that uses flash extension brackets and simply tie-wrap the cable to them.
