Default 5D & 7D mounted on a drone

Sorry for the double post...I should have shared this info here in the video section...I just think this is soo cool. Is there a way to embed VIMEO so that the player is viewed within this post?

Very beautiful footage captured with a drone equipped with 5D and 7D bodies..

Wow amazing footage, so versatile! Much can be done with this!

How fast can it move? are 50 mph speed shots possible?

How much do those things cost? Looks awesome! Better have some good insurance though...

Yes, pretty amazing..even if some of the footage isn't perfectly smooth, you're still able to grab footage impossible to achieve by any other means not to mention we're talking about a very small platform floating on air so you're forced to fight wind etc. They mentioned the state of the crumbling ruin and the terrain..no way you'll be able to bring in and easily setup a boom under these conditions.

These are the guys that make such toys:
http://www.mikrokopter.com

Here is their demo/functional video:
http://vimeo.com/6194911

... but be prepared to shell a minimum of 689,95€

I want one, but I need to win the lottery before that can happen.

I researched these craft extensively and there are others such as Microdrone (http://www.microdrones.com/en_md4-1000.php) which sells for about $50k and Draganflyer (http://www.draganfly.com/) which sells for $30k. The problem with all of them including mikrokopter is they have limited payload. None of them will be able to fly around with a 5D Mark II with Zeiss glass, not to mention the the weight of a camera mount. If you read around some of the forums there are some pretty upset people who shelled out the money for the expensive ones because of poor video performance. I think the one in the video is specialized? Either way I WANT ONE

The mikrokopters have a payload of 1kg, which is more that a 5D2 with some L glass.

this guy has made a few good videos with the mikrokopter

The 5D alone weighs 850 grams. The minimum weights of an L series are 650g for the 24mm 1.4 or the 35mm 600g that's about 1.5kg camera and glass now you need a camera mount which is another story..the ones I've seen that are able to carry a 5D are a minimum of 600-700 grams wow that's a total of around 2.1kg!
