My new sister-in-law

I posted this in the critique corner too...

I took a bunch of pictures at my brothers wedding thie past weekend (without interfering with the pro - she actually wants to see my pictures when I post them). I have a lot of work to do adjusting and cropping. This is one of my favorites so far. For this one, I stayed away and used my 70-300mm zoom. What do you think?

hey Jim,
good picture (especially good catch of the moment) but in my opinion this picture would be a lot more special if you would edit it to b\w or half sepia.

Thanks for the suggestion. Last night as I was going through the hundreds of pictures I shot, I was thinking about making some of them B&W... this is a good one to start with. I will do it and repost.

Its a nice composition but it looks to me more like a blinker than the bride intentionally having her eyes shut, would be better if her eyes were open and engaged with his or she had her head over his shoulder with her eyes shut. Do you have shots either side of this one ?

Looks a little bit soft and colours need a pop too but both of those are easily fixed in PP.

I agree, she looks to be blinking.

Awesome edit Tiabare. What did you do ?

I used unsharpen mask in Photoshop CS4 to clear the picture of the murkiness using the following Amount 20%-Radius 60.0 %-Threshold 0 , i do this for most of my photos and it works like a charm. then I used the levels to darken just a touch then lasso the bride only and used Portrait pro to soften her skin not a fan of soften skin on a man . then used a bit of Smart sharpen to bring back some detail to the brides skin Then added a slight Vignette and a Border .

I like tiabare's version. The sharpening has helped a lot since the first version is focused on the groom.
