Default Watermark?

Is there a way that I can put a text watermark on a large number of pictures at once?

I take pictures at motorcycle racing events and posted them on facebook. I have asked that people simply give me credit for the pictures, but it is not working so I have decided to place a watermark on all of them....so they can't steal it or even use it for print in the future.

Is there an easy way to do it?

P.s. Please don't say "don't post them on Facebook" because that is not the issue. I will post them, I just want to watermark them

Faststone resizer can be used easily to apply a watermark to batches of photos.

You could create an action that would add the watermark and then save it wherever you want.

I have photoshop.

I don't know how to create an action. I am new to Photoshop.

I tried following this http://www.dpchallenge.com/tutorial.php?TUTORIAL_ID=64 and got lost at the action part.

I use Russell Brown Tutorial as a starting point for some of my watermark actions. While he uses Illustrator for creating the text it can also be done with Photoshop. This may take a little following and a few tries to get it working the way you like but it is well worth the effort. Once I have the action completed I simply select the images that I want to apply this to in Bridge and then start the image processor.

I've made some changes to it to suit my options so that I can add extra elements to the image by tagging line items in the action file. As I said, it is well worth the time investment, imo. This is one of the often talked about subjects in this forum so there should be plenty of reading beyond the answers you will get here. There are plenty of freeware and shareware plugins or stand alone applications that can do this. I like the action method over anything that I have found online yet.

Photoshop 7? Is that an really old version? Nothing wrong with it, I am just surprised it would still be in use.

I assume you mean PS Elements 7. I think there's a way to do it in that. If nothing else, just create it as a layer a reduce the opacity. I agree, though, re: Fastone. I've never used it for watermarks but I do use it for resizing and it's an excellent little app for $0.

No I really mean photoshop 7.0 haha. It was given to me YEARS ago and I never saw the point in updating when I rarely, if ever use it.

I'm not familiar with that version. I always like to use actions especially if you will do more of it in the future. Maybe someone else is familiar with that version.
