Show me your best 1D Mark IV sports images at ISO 12,800 (or greater). Show both straight out of camera and if you use noise reduction, name the software and show the final processed image.

Please post as large as possible. (1024 x 1024 max.)

You first.

I just mailed my check to Sharp Photo in Eau Claire, WI. When I get the camera, you will see my images.

They're probably quite similar to the sports photos I take at ISO 6400 with my 7D.

I would love to help, but to be honest, I don't have not even one. Obviously I'm lucky enough to shoot in halls where iso3200 is maximum I need to get to 1/1000sec. If it doesn't need to be sport photo, I can make photo or two through the window and send it over.

No rush, just squeeze off a few images at your next low light sports outing. I'd like to have them sports images so people can compare them to similar images in this category.

I tried out the IV for the first time tonight just to get used to the settings and the differences between it and the III. Here are some shots SOOC and then after PP including NR in Noiseware Pro. ISO 12,800

1. SOOC

Nice Phil. Haven't done any high ISO stuff yet. I shot a series at 3200 last week, pretty damn impressive. No noise reduction.

I rarely shoot at 12,800 but night time soccer will require 3200 to 8000 essentially all with a Mark IV. Three galleries under "recent galleries" on my site (below) were shot with those ISOs. In galleries and then NASCAR, the gallery from the all star race was shot with a Mark IV, 16-35, 2.8 at ISO 10,000.

NIce Danny. Your shots at 3200 made me think of my 30D and how that was (and is) a wonderful camera body. This new technology is amazing and changes the game. That 30D is so old now... ... ...

Guys, don't forget to shoot a few frames at 12,800 and post the results.

I brought the strobes to the event but there were low ceilings and competitors surrounding the pool and they blocked the light. If not for high ISO, I'd have been SOL.
