Earlier this week I purchased the Dolica AX620B100 tripod off of Amazon for $40.00. I have used it now for 3 photo shoots and I have to say this is probably the best new tripod you can get for that price. I thought about getting a better named brand one but my biggest problem is most of my shoots involve sand and water. It is going to be a lot easier for me to stick my $40 tripod down in wet sand than it would be with a $200+ one. I will be using it a couple more times this weekend and hopefully it keeps performing great. The one thing that I did notice is the leg clips do seem cheap. Hope this helps someone out who's looking for a decent tripod on a budget.

Strangely Amazon seems to have a problem with the Dolica tripod, it's under review according to their website.
http://www.amazon.com/Dolica-AX620B1...p_ob_p_title_2 I'd be interested to find out what the problem is ?

I was raising the point, there might be some quality or design issue with the tripod, if Amazon has it under review.

Ill second on the bargan for that tripod. I pack it with me on hikes and not afraid to get it wet or dirty. And it will hold up my 70-200 fine. Any larger of a lens though ya might wanna change out the ball mount for a sturdier one.
