Default Foreigner @ Chumash Casino Resort, October 7, 2010

Second shoot of Foreigner. They had an odd greenish for much of the three song limit. I will try not to post any OOF or ugly facial expression looks, but please remember that I am old and decrepit and don't have any control over how the performers perform!

#1 Obligatory collage:

#2 I think this guy [Jeff Pilson] got a hair cut since last he was here:

#3 They had this new LED screen rather than the sign they had last time, but you can see part of their Foreigner logo on it:

#4 Another of the lead singer Kelly Hansen:

#5 Mick Jones (the only original member I believe):

#6 I know folks like these personal interaction captures. The head in the bottom middle is that of a female photographer that fooled security into thinking she was with the band and then spent the entire three song limit with her belly against the stage which we generally forbid ... she was here once before about three years ago and they had to forcefully remove her when she kept shooting after the song limit. I have no clue who she is!:

#7 A crappy alignment but I loved the reflection:

#8 Combination of the sickly green and mungy magenta:

There are more on my website at http://dwightmccann.com/ChumashCasin...r10072010.html for you listening pleasure.

I will now entertain criticisms, especially about focus, as I have several images being held in reserve (that you can see on my website as noted above!)

Great shots! My faves are 2 and 5.

What focus mode are you using anyway? And AF or MF?

Thank you. I always shoot concerts AF using an off center focus point and AV exposure using the same focus point (1D bodies.)

Yes,Mick is the only original. Nice shots. I saw them on Stern a year or so ago. Singer sounded pretty good.

I like #3, 4 and 5.
#6: Whitebalance quite a bit warm. Why?
That "photographer" should have been booted out...

Agree with you on the alignment of #7

Rene, I'm not sure what went on with the white balance being so warm on #6 except that the cooler lighting seen on others doesn't appear to be on ... I suspect they were lighted only by the follow spots which they have gelling lately. On #7, I waited the whole time they were in that configuration for a good alignment and they just never got there ... it would have been a super image if they had.

Shots are great ... criticism however is your "obligatory" collage ... It does your work no justice at all.

Well, thank you ... the collage is not an advertising piece but one of a long series (of about 300) that has evolved over time ... they sort of have a life of their own. Anyway, it is not really an 'art work', but I would like to know what it is you particularly find lacking?
